The bully victim Nashfa Hassan, who was reported missing for several days visited Family and Child Protection Department (FCPD) on Sunday evening.
Nashfa Hassan, aged 15, Gaaf Dhaal Thinadhoo was physically assaulted by three other girls who kept berating her with harsh profanity. The video of the incident has since gone viral on social media platforms attracting public anger.
Maldives Police confirms the bullied minor visited the office of FCPD on her around 18:50hrs on Sunday evening. Police held from disclosing any further details regarding the development in the case.
According to her family, Nashfa went missing on August 19. Police confirm they were not notified of a missing person's report by the family.
The now viral video showed three girls - believed to be of the same age as the victim - slapping her multiple times all the while berating her with profanity, and recent developments in the case has confirmed the incident was took place and was recorded on a digital device back in May 2018.
Maldives Police in a tweet confirmed they were currently investigating the matter.
The video has attracted severe lambaste and targeted anger at the bullies, sparking a social media protestant 'movement' with several opining or condemning the act of bullying.
