PPM running-mate 'conditions' Maldives leader to be strong, educated

Ruling party endorsed running-mate Dr. Mohamed Shaheem Ali Saeed has claimed that the Maldivian president must be an individual with a strong academic background possessing great strength to lead the nation.

The Progressive Party of Maldives (PPM) backed running-mate while addressing the public of Laamu atoll Fonadhoo, claimed the opposition lacked a mutually agreed governance policy.

Dr. Shaheem suspected the opposition coalition was succumbing into an internal rift between its parties over the disparate political ideologies they shared.

The ruling party running-mate was confident his presidential candidate Abdulla Yameen who is seeking re-election will win in the crunch presidential election by a landslide.

He also described the upcoming presidential election one that will shape the future of Maldives and its chances of progress and development; as the people will be voting to decide to favor peace and prosperity or choose a bleak and conflict ridden future.
