Maldives national cricket team flies to Lanka for T20 prep matches

The Maldives national cricket team has flown to neighboring Sri Lanka for a series of friendly games as part of preparation for the T20 league.

The team is scheduled to compete against varying levels of teams in a series of five matches at Lanka and the squad is coached by Pakistan born South African; Aasif Khan.

Maldives national cricket team is participating in these games in order to hone their skills and prepare for the ACC West-Zone T20 league at Qatar on October.

Khan prior to flying spoke with local media addressing the aim of these test games is to assess the skills and attributes of his players - and to understand the strength of the entire team.

Maldives will be pitted against host Qatar along with Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Bahrain and Iran who are frequents in the West-Zone T20 league.
