Eight foreigners have been arrested on Sunday night for the production of alcohol and its sale.
Maldives Police Service (MPS) revealed that the eight individuals were arrested after the police searched a home in Macchangolhi ward of capital Male' on a tip that the occupants of the house were manufacturing alcohol on a large scale.
During the raid, 888 plastic bottles of 500ml capacity, six plastic bottles of 5 liters and 14 large containers were discovered.
All arrested individuals are Bangladeshi nationals aged between 21 and 33 years.
Bangladesh nationals using drugs were arrested just the previous night.
