Rasfannu beach closed due to fecal contamination

Male' City Council has closed off Rasfannu Beach following reports of fecal contamination.

The Deputy Mayor of the City Council said the area was closed off to the public after the Health Protection Agency inspected the waters due to several complaints of fecal contamination received from the public. The council is working with the Health Protection Agency to identify the cause of contamination.

Ministry of Health has assured that they are undertaking al necessary measures and urged the public to refrain from using Rasfannu waters until further notice.
