Number of nights spent by tourists increase by 9.8%

The number of nights spent in the Maldives by tourists visiting the country have increased by 9.8%.

Statistics published by the Tourism Ministry shows 3,010,496 nights were spent in the Maldives by tourists since the beginning of the year until end of March. This is an increase of 9.8% from the same period last year.

The average occupancy rate during the first quarter of the year was at 75%, which is a 0.6% increase from the same period last year. 6.2 days were spent by tourists on Maldives holidays on average.

162,843 tourists visited the Maldives during March 2019.
