Man accused of harboring runaway minors arrested

A man accused of harboring two minors who ran away from home has been arrested.

The police revealed that the Family and Child Protection Department of the police discovered that two minors who ran away from home were being harbored in an island during an investigation. The police raided the suspected home under a court order and found the runaway children early on Tuesday. A 29-year old man who was harboring the minors was arrested during the operation.

The police did not provide details about the island nor reveal the relationship between the arrested man and the children. Drugs and instruments used to package drugs were discovered in the house, it has been reported.

The two minors have now been handed over to Family and Child Protection Department. The children will remain under the department’s custody until their families collect them. The court has remanded the arrested man into custody for ten days.
