Over MVR 200,000 have been stolen from the office of International Food Supply in capital Male'.
The police revealed that they received reports of a robbery at the office on Monday morning, during which the robbers took MVR 234,923 from the safe after breaking into the office. Additional cash inside a desk drawer was also stolen.
Just before the commencement of the holy month of Ramadan, the police urged the public to stay alert and vigilant, as robberies are usually at a peak during this time of the year.
