The practical implementation of the project to establish a water system in Dharavandhoo island of Baa atoll has commenced.
The project is funded by Green Climate Fund, whose grant aid will also establish water systems in three other islands; Raa Maduvvary, HDh. Nolhivanfaru and Sh. Foakaidhoo.
Speaking at the ceremony held to kick off the project, Environment Minister Dr Hussain Rasheed Hassan revealed that the funds required for the projects were handed over to the government by Green Climate Fund during February 2017.
However, the project to establish a water system in Dharavandhoo was awarded to Canadian Coastline Water India Company on 1st November 2018.
