Hut used for prostitution dismantled by police

Maldives Police Services has dismantled a hut being used for prostitution and the consumption of food during daylight hours of Ramadan.

The police revealed that the hut in Laamu Fonadhoo Kurigam qard was reported of being utilized for drug use, prostitution and consumption of food during fasting hours. The issue of the hut which stood on government property was reported by the island council, and was built without the permission of the council, the police revealed.

The complaint was submitted at the police by Fonadhoo council on June 1. While the hut was being disassembled on the request of the island council, Maldives Police Service provided security at the site.
