The implementation of Shaviyani Foakaidhoo's water supply system project was inaugurated on Saturday.
The project is funded under the Green Climate Fund's grant aid was inaugurated by the Environment Minister Dr. Hussain Rasheed Hassan.
The project was contracted to Canadian Crystalline Water India Limited for MVR 30.8 million, and is expected to be completed by end of November 2019.
The grant will also finance water supply projects in B. Dharavandhoo, R. Maduvaree and HD. Nolhivaranfaru. Rainwater storage systems will also be established in 25 islands under the project.
