Parliament committee moves to dismiss ACC head

Parliament committee on Independent Institutions on Tuesday made the decision to recommend the parliament to dismiss President of Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) Hassan Luthufee from his post.

Members of the ACC were summoned to the committee last Wednesday, where they were questioned regarding the Commission President, who did not present himself at the committee.

The ACC members in attendance revealed to the committee that while Luthufee has failed to report to official duties for over two months, his salary is withdrawn every month.

During Wednesday's committee meeting, it was proposed that Luthufee is dismissed from his post as the President of the Commission due to his absence. The motion was passed with the agreement of all members present at the committee.

According to the letter sent to the committee by the ACC, Luthufee last reported for official duties on 6th February 2019. While he was on leave until 14th April 2019, he has failed to return to office after his vacation.
