A 34.7% hike has been recorded in number of tourist arrivals from Poland after direct flights commenced between Poland and Maldives.
Poland's Blue Panorama airline began operating charter flights to Maldives during June. The Polish market was not very thriving from among the European market before the flights were commenced. However, after the charter flights began operation until end of tourism season in December, statistics show the Polish market has increased by a large percentage.
Tourism Ministry''s statistic show 7543 tourists arrived from Poland during the first seven months of 2018. However, 10,157 tourists arrive from Poland during the same period this year, which is an increase of 34.7%. While 878 tourists visited from Poland during July 2018, 1937 tourists visited during the same period this year.'
104,172 tourist have visited the Maldives from Northern and Central Europe thus far this year. This is a 12.9% increase compared to the 92,285 tourists who visited Maldives during the same period the previous year.
