Environment Minister Dr. Hussain Rasheed has departed to Geneva, Switzerland to attend a UN forum on climate change.
Environment Ministry said Minister Hussain Rasheed traveled to Switzerland as s special envoy of President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih to participate in the forum "UN Trade Forum: SDG and Climate Change". The forum will begin on Monday and conclude on Friday.
At the forum, the minister will speak on the impacts on businesses, economy and sustainable development of island nations due to climate change.
The forum is held in preparation of the climate summit slated for 23 September on the sidelines of UN General Assembly in New York.
