Environment Minister Dr Hussain Rasheed Hassan has stated that undesirable practices have to be eliminated in order to achieve sustainable development goals.
Speaking at the 'SDGs and Climate Change' UN Trade Forum ongoing at Geneva, Switzerland, Minister Hussain said while human beings need to let go off undesirable habits. some sacrifices have to be made by the humankind to reach development goals.
Noting that the whole world is working towards implementing the Paris Agreement signed in 2015, Minister Hussain said the economy of countries such as Maldives, whose economy depends on tourism and import market, will suffer its consequences.
The minister emphasized the need to acquire more foreign investments in order to minimize such impacts, and such countries have to decrease the dependency of the entire economy on one or two industries.
