Maldives Police Service are investigating a blackmail case involving a police officer.
Police Media Officer revealed that a blackmail case was filed against a police officer on October 6.
The police said the involved officer is a 29 year old male, although they did not disclose the officer's identity.
While no arrests have been made thus far, the Professional Command of the police are investigating the claims while a criminal investigation has also been launched.
It has been reported that the officer in question threatened to leak explicit photos of his wife's family members.
