Maldives Police Service (MPS) revealed that a man has been arrested after being caught with bottles of alcohol in Hulhumale’ City.
MPS informed that an expatriate was stopped by officers patrolling the streets of Hulhumale' around 8:00 pm Wednesday. 6 bottles of alcohol were found in his bag after it was searched, said the police.
The arrested man is a 23-year old Bangladeshi, they added.
Cases involving alcohol in residential islands have been increasing in number. Last June, the Police confiscated several bottles of liqour from a guest house in Alifu Alifu Atoll, Thoddoo.
