Two Indian nationals caught with drugs

Maldives Customs Services have stated that two Indian national who arrived in Maldives from Bangalore have been arrested with drugs.

Customs said the hidden drugs were found when the luggage of two individuals aged 23 and 24 were searched after it was flagged during an x-ray scan. Laboratory tests confirmed the drugs to be Hashish oil.

Customs stated that the confiscated drugs weigh around 2.146kgs. The street value of the drugs is estimated to be MVR 572,982.

Customs said the two individuals as well as the confiscated drugs have been handed over to Maldives Police Services. Customs statistics show over 30kgs of drugs have been seized thus far this year.
