Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) is preparing to begin the harbour construction project in Fehendhoo island of Baa atoll.
The project was awarded to MTCC this July for MVR 49.6 million. The company revealed that the materials required for the project were transported to the island on Sunday.
MTCC said the construction of the harbor will consist of 43,500cbm of dredging and excavation along with construction of a 130 meter long breakwater, 282 meter long of revetment, 214 meter quay wall and a concrete walkway bridge. The agreement also consists of the construction of a ramp, interlocking pavements and installment of mooring blocks, navigational masts and harbor lights, said MTCC.
