Home Minister Imran Abdulla has stated that establishing an environment where citizens can work collaboratively with the police is important, and revealed that the government is working towards the goal.
Speaking at the opening ceremony of Hoarafushi Police station, Imran said while the country faces new crimes unlike that which it faced in the past, the assistance and support provided to the police in their efforts to tackle the crimes should be increased.
"Police work can be developed and enhanced further when they are able to work together with the public, when the county's citizens unite in support of the police, and when the relationship between the police and the citizens are stronger," Imran said.
