Local Tourism: Need govt. assistance

The Council of Kendhikulhudhoo said that they need assistance from the government to develop local tourism of the island.

Kendhikulhudhoo Councillors have met with the president Ibrahim Mohamed Solih today. They have brought to the attention of the president what the community of the island need most in the meeting. Besides, they have shared the most recent progress updates of the island’s development projects and the updates of the projects planned. Moreover, they shared information about the situation of the island and the challenges faced by the community.

Specifically, they have updated the president on the challenges faced in disposing of garbage, the need for Police assistance in attending various social issues, need to upgrade island Health Centre, the difficulty of not having a pharmacy service for 24 hours.

Furthermore, they raised concern over the delays in implementing the sewer project of the island, the facilities needed for Kendhokulhudhoo School and the need for government’s assistance in developing local tourism on the island.

The President said that he would discuss with the relevant authorities as soon as possible to come up with constructive solutions for the concerns raised in the meeting by the councillors.
