Qasim fought till last breath

There was no issue between Qasim who was murdered very cruelly on 4th December and his murderer. Qasim fell into the prey of a robber who roamed in Hulhumale’.

The police have arrested Adhuham Mohamed from Lh. Hinnavaru who has confessed of killing Qasim. Adhuham has records of robbery and drug issues.

The Sub-inspector of Police Mohamed Samih said, revealing detailed information for the first time regarding the case, on the day of Qasim’s murder Adhuham was high on drugs and was roaming around since afternoon.

Samih said that Adhuham fulfills his basic needs and purchase drugs by robbing and stealing. In that sense, on 4th December he went to Hulhumale’ to get drugs and to rob someone off to get the money to purchase drugs.

Adhuham used drugs even in Hulhumale’ and the whole day he was trying to rob someone to get additional money to purchase drugs. However, given that it was day-time, there was no way he could rob.

Qasim becoming Adhuham’s prey
At first, Ahuham was trying to rob someone by snatching from pedestrians on the roads. However, when he did not get that opportunity he thought of robbing by threatening with a sharp object. Hence, he got a knife from a café in Hulhumale’.

As per Adhuham’s statement to the police, even after getting a knife, he did not get a chance to rob due to police having an operation in Hulhumale’. Adhuham then thought of going to Hulhumale’ by a taxi; however, the taxi driver was not the kind of person whom he wanted to rob.

After going to Hulhumale’ he attempted several times to rob, then he went to Hulhule’, there he went to some shops to steal which also failed due to the presence of police at the airport to a certain extent.

Then he went to a taxi queue at the airport and get a taxi driver whom he wants to rob. He usually robs from older people. Adhuham took Qasim’s taxi since he was the kind of person whom Adhuham wants to rob.

Even at the last breath, Qasim did not give a chance to Adhuham
To threaten and rob from Qasim, Adhuham let Qasim to an isolated area of Reethigasmagu of Hulhumale’ where the Halfway House is built. When they first entered the road, there were some people so he led Qasim to other areas of Hulhumale’ and after driving for about 20 minutes again came back to Reethigasmagu.

To rob Qasim he pointed the knife from behind and pointed the knife to Qasim’s neck.
Even till the last breath, Qasim fought for his soul and goods, said the police. He even tried to snatch the knife and even screamed for help from the passersby.

Adhuham said that he stabbed Qasim’s neck to stop his screaming and that Qasim’s hand was injured in his attempt to snatch the knife from Adhuham, said the police.

The wound on Qasim’s necked showed that it was stabbed once and that his hands were severely injured when Adhuham pulled the knife in Qasim’s attempt to snatch the knife, said the police.

The police said that Adhuham’s attempt to rob was failed as Qasim did not give him any chance. Adhuham could not rob Qasim of any money or goods.
