Ahmed Karam has resigned from the board of Guest House Association of Maldives (GAM) and Maldives Marketing & PR Corporation.
Karam was one of the founding members of GAM, and previously served as the association President as well whereas he played an active role as Interim Chairman at MMPRC, representing guest houses.
According to the letter he wrote to the Privatization and Corporization Board (PCB) and President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih, Karam stated that he resigned from the posts in order to contest for the position of AA. Thoddoo Constituency's Island Council President in the upcoming local council elections.
Karam said that while he could remain in his posts until the elections, he did not wish to do so.
