On occasion of their anniversary, the Blind and Visually Impaired Society of Maldives (BVISM) have initiated a special blood donation program.
January 26th marks their 10th anniversary.
Speaking with AVAS, the association's media official Abdulla Ziyau stated that they made the decision to initiate the program as a means of committing a deed for the benefit of society.
The program will be initiated in collaboration with the National Thalassemia Center of Maldives. Ensuing on the 25th, blood donations are scheduled from 9:00 - 17:00, Ziyau said.
Ziyau revealed that they have been sending invitations to various institutions to participate in the program, further stating that members of BVISM will also be donating.
Within the 10 years of their existence, the Blind and Visually Impaired Society of Maldives have done numerous positive work for the blind community. Additionally, the association created and brought about several TV and radio programs as well.
