Maldives Immigration Services has stopped an illegal immigrant from entering the Maldives with a counterfeited passport.
According to a tweet posted by Immigration, a 25-year-old man who tried to enter Maldives with a fake passport was stopped at airport immigration check point
The immigration has not revealed the nationality, from which country he came from and neither has provided any further information. However, Immigration has published on Twitter a photo of him disguising eyes and mouth.
Recently the issue of trying to enter the Maldives with fake identities has surfaced much. In that regard, Immigration had prevented foreigners from entering the Maldives with fake identities even last year.
To solve this, issue the immigration has been working with the relevant government authorities to address the issue of human trafficking in addition to strengthening the border control system.
