Maldives Police Service have revealed that there was an additional Maldivian on the cargo ship that crashed onto the reef, alongside its Captain.
According information received initially upon the disappearance on January 6, there were two expatriates and one Maldivian present on the boat. Some pictures that surfaced then also exhibited these individuals.
Speaking with AVAS, Police have now disclosed the presence of an additional Maldivian on the boat. However, no further details were conveyed regarding his whereabouts at the time and at present.
A knife, a blood stained towel, and phone were discovered in the region where the boat crashed. While several suspicious details are inclusive in the case, Police have not revealed whether the two expatriates had been captured.
MNDF have been continuing their efforts to find the missing persons to no avail.
