Twenty-five vessels taken away

The Male’ City Council has said 25 vessels have been taken away under the work that is ongoing to remove the vessels anchored unlawfully at the harbour of Male and Villingili and those vessels anchored for a long time without being used.

The work was commended near the Fish Market of Male’ collaboratively by Male’ City Council, the Police and other relevant authorities.

The Council’s North Mafannu member Ahmed Fazeen said that on Monday alone 25 vessels are taken away; 4 Dhoani had been towed and taken to Thilafushi.

In the worked that was commenced on Monday the Police said they started the worked near Fish Market and have been checking the vessels that are moored unlawfully as well as unused vessels kept for a long time, and taking away those vessels.

The vessels crews’ biggest complaint is the space constraint of Male’ Harbour.
