President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has said the government’s utmost priority should be the health and safety of the Maldivian citizens and the visitors to the country.
The president met with the ministers and senior officials of the relevant authorities to obtain the most recent apprise of the preventive measures taken in the Maldives on the coronavirus outbreak that is escalating across the globe. Speaking in the meeting held at the presidential residence Muliaage on Friday, the president said that the government’s uppermost priority should be the health and safety of its citizens and the visitors to the country and urged the relevant authorities to take prompt safety and precautionary actions to the maximum capacity.
The president also inquired about the condition of Maldivians in China, and other countries that are affected by the virus and asked about the protocols followed to ensure the safety of those people.
