Over 300 complaints received on local council voters list

Over 300 complaints have been submitted to the Elections Commission (EC) regarding the voter list for the upcoming local council election.

According to the voters list publicized by EC, 269,562 individuals are eligible to vote in the election slated for April 4. However, this number is likely to change based on the complaints received by the commission.

EC said while the deadline for the submission of complaints expired on Friday, the commission received 373 complaints regarding the list. The commission will respond to the complaints after looking into them, said EC.

While 983 officials will be elected in the local council election, 33% of the seats have been reserved for women as per recent amendments to the Decentralization Act. 930 members will be elected to Women's Development Committees on the same day.
