The Elections Commission (EC) has opened re-registration for the upcoming local council election, for Maldivians residing in overseas.
EC has said that they have opened re-registration for Maldivians residing in overseas, to vote in the upcoming election for Women’s Development Committees and council election.
The re-registration is open from Sunday morning until 27 February. Hence, registration forms will be collected between 10:00 to 15:00 hours from Consulate Office in Trivandrum and High Commission in New Delhi in India.
Between 9:30 to 15:30 from High Commission in Colombo, Sri Lanka, between 10:00 to 16:00 hours from High Commission in London, UK and High Commission in Singapore.
Moreover, re-registration forms will be collected between 9:00 to 14:00 hours in Thailand and Bangladesh from 10:00 to 15:00 hours.
During this period re-registration is only open for those who wish to change their 2019 registered address. However, among those who registered in 2019, people who were registered for resorts, industrials islands and prisons have now been registered in their permanent address, said EC.
