Renowned Islamic scholar Dr. Abu Ameena Bilal Philips has accepted an invitation to visit the Maldives.
The invitation was extended to the scholar by Minister of Youth, Sports and Community Empowerment Ahmed Mahloof. The minister has thanked Dr. Philips for accepting his invitation.
Minister Mahloof said the scholar will be giving sermons promoting peace targeted at the youth of the country during his visit.
This will not be the scholar's first visit to the Maldives. During his previous visit on the invitation of a private organization, he delivered the Friday Sermon at the Islamic Centre in capital Male'.
