Home Minister meets with Indian counterpart

Home Minister Imran Abdulla met with Home Minister of India Amit Shah on Friday.

The meeting was held Friday afternoon at India’s Home Ministry. According to the Home Ministry, extensive discussions were held on obtaining assistance for strengthening Maldives police, enhancing collaborations between both countries, in addition to the discussions on the joint undertaking of Home Ministries of both the countries.

The importance of ensuring the security of the Indian Ocean was also discussed to a great extent. Moreover, deliberations were held on measures taken in both countries to combat the threats posed by terrorism and extremist ideologies.

Minister Imran also met and held discussion with Atul Karwal, Director of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel National Police Academy and senior officials of the Narcotics Control Bureau, India.
