An expatriate fell from the 7th floor of a building under construction in the Maafannu ward of the capital city, Male'.
The police said they received a reports of the incident around 1819 hrs on Sunday. The man fell down the elevator shaft of the building, said the police.
The man is currently being treated at the state-run hospital, Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH). No information has been released on his condition.
Following the incident, the police have urged the construction companies to follow safety procedures.
