National Emergency Operations Centre has received a donation of buggy vehicles for their rapid response work. The Tourism Ministry donated the buggies to the centre with compliments from Hard Rock Maldives and Sai Lagoon Maldives.
Tourism Ministry and the industry have been contributing to the numerous works related to the COVID-19 pandemic. Over 200 resorts in the Maldives have temporarily ceased operation at a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, and some of the resorts are being used as quarantine facilities. The ministry has been playing an active role in arranging and establishing quarantine facilities.
