Heavy rain showers in the south have caused flooding in Addu City.
Speaking to AVAS, Addu City Council’s member Ibrahim Shukuri said the most damage was caused to Hithadhoo, Feydhoo and Maradhoo-Feydhoo. Several homes were flooded and household appliances and property were damaged.
While the city has been experiencing heavy showers since the early morning of Thursday, the Meteorology Office has issued a yellow alert for the southern part of the Maldives.
