Thai nationals residing in Maldives repatriated

Fifteen Thailand nationals residing in the Maldives have been evacuated.

Previously, three flights were arranged to repatriate Thailand nationals residing in the Maldives. The flight that departed on Monday was the last flight arranged for evacuating Thai citizens.

According to the Thai Consulate in the Maldives, while 15 Thai nationals departed from the Maldives on Monday, 63 Thai nationals will embark from Sri Lanka on the same flight. A total of 349 Thai national residing in the Maldives have now been repatriated to Thailand via Maldivian Airline.

After the suspension of inbound and outbound international flights due to the COVID-19 pandemic, special flights are being arranged to repatriate foreign nationals residing in the Maldives. A large number of Maldivians residing abroad have also been repatriated back to the Maldives via specially arranged flights.
