Daily COVID-19 stats: 24 new cases, one death

The Maldives on Tuesday recorded 24 new cases of COVID-19.

According to the Health Protection Agency (HPA), the new cases are of 11 Maldivians and 13 foreigners. This brings the total number of positive cases to 2,361.

HPA also announced 17 new recoveries, bringing the total number of recoveries to 1,944. The number of active cases is 403.

The Maldives recorded its 9th COVID-19 related death on Tuesday afternoon. According to the Health Protection Agency (HPA), a 43-year-old Filipino male admitted at DH11 passed away at 01:50 pm. He was among the three patients who were shifted to DH11 from Tree Top Hospital on Monday due to critical condition.

50,336 samples have been tested for COVID-19 thus far, out of which 735 samples were tested over the past 24 hours. Authorities said 275 individuals are currently at isolation facilities while 134 individuals are at quarantine facilities.
