President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has decided to meet the security forces of the Maldives.
The meetings are being held to commend and acknowledge the invaluable services performed by the police and army forces to curb the spread of the coronavirus. Meeting with police is scheduled for early evening while the meeting with army forcers is scheduled for late evening.
The police have considerable concerns over the police service bill the parliament has been studying. Referring to the issue the president stated during a press conference held at the President’s Office, police and army officers are performing a crucial task for the peace and order of the country, and their work is invaluable.
President assured he would work towards reforming the security forces and enhance their services.
