Additional member of Human Rights Commission resigns

Members of Harman Right Commission of the Maldives (HRCM), Moosa Ali Kaleyfaanu has resigned from the commission.

In the resignation letter, Mr Ali Kaleyfaanu stated that he was resigning due to the lack of an independent work environment that facilitates work without influence. Former president of HRCM and a member of the commission recently resigned from the commission while the parliament's Human Rights Committee considering their dismissal.

The President’s Office has opened the application for four membership posts on the HRCM as the tenures of four incumbent members are set to expire soon.
