COVID-19: Two in Maafushi home quarantine test positive

Two individuals in home quarantine at tourism island Kaafu Maafushi have tested positive for COVID-19.

A woman and child who traveled to Maafushi 15 days ago from epicentre capital Male’ tested positive for the infection upon being tested for the virus prior to their release from home quarantine. While no persons had come in contact with the mother and child while in quarantine, they are being treated at their home, said authorities. Both are doing well.

A person in home quarantine in Maafushi had earlier tested positive for COVID-19. While over 3,500 cases have been recorded in the Maldives, the virus is being detected in the atolls more frequently.
