72 patients are hospitalised due to COVID-19, the Health Emergency Operations Centre, HEOC said on Saturday.
During a press briefing held Saturday night, HEOC’s Spokesperson Dr. Nazla Rafeeq said 65 patients are receivig treatment at the Hulhumale’ Medical Facility while 5 patients are hospitalized at Dharumavantha Hospital in capital Male’. Two people are receiving treatment at Eydhafushi COVID centre in Baa atoll and the COVID centre in Sh. Funadhoo, said Dr. Nazla. Out of these, six people are being treated in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) - five at the ICU in Hulhumale’ Medical Centre, and one in Dharumavantha Hospital.
The Maldives has recorded 3,949 positive cases to date. The most recent death, which occurred late Saturday night increases the toll to 17.
