President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has ordered for government offices to be closed for the rest of the week.
Government offices are currently closed for the Eid al Alha holidays. The President’s Office said government offices will remain closed from August 4th to 6th as a measure to contain the spread of COVID-19. However, those who can continue to work from home are encouraged to do so, the President’s Office said. All government services that can be given online must be provided as well.
Government offices were closed for a long period after the first case of COVID-19 community spread was detected in the capital. The offices resumed work in June.
