Nilandhoo island in Faafu atoll has been placed under the Health Protection Agency, HPA’s monitoring status.
HPA barred entry and exit from Nilandhoo after two people who completed home quarantine in the island tested positive for COVID-19. The status will remain until HPA advises otherwise.
The Maldives has recorded over 5,500 cases of COVID-19 to date. The number of cases being identified in the atolls have been increasing over the past few weeks.
