HDh. Kulhudhuffushi City and Nolhivaram island of the same atoll have been put under the Health Protection Agency (HPA)’s monitoring status. The step was taken after a crew working on a Kulhudhuffushi boat tested positive for COVID-19.
HPA on Friday said the crewman was tested after he exhibited symptoms of COVID-19. According to reports, passengers from both Kulhudhuffushi and Nolhivaram island traveled on the boat. While contact tracing is ongoing, entry and exit have been restricted from both islands.
The Maldives has recorded over 10,000 COVID-19 cases until now. While most cases were identified in the capital Male’ region, the figure also includes positive cases from 21 islands.
