Lufthansa to resume operation to Maldives in 2021

Lufthansa Airline will commence operation to the Maldives next year, the airline has said.

The airline said two weekly flights will operate to the Maldives after flights are resumed mid-2021. Aircrafts of Airbus A330 and A300 will be used for the journey between Frankfurt and Maldives. A significant amount of tourists visit the Maldives from Germany, and a large number of European flights fly to Frankfurt Airport. Ticket sales have already commenced.

Lufthansa first began operating to the Maldives in 2015. However, the operations were suspended earlier this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
