Online lessons on language, religion for Maldivians abroad being discussed

Vice President Faisal Naseem has held discussions with stakeholders on conducting Islam, Dhivehi and Quran lessons online for locals living abroad. The meeting was held at the President’s Office on Sunday afternoon.

Speaking at the meeting, the Vice President shed light on the importance of conducting online classes for Islam, Dhivehi and Quran enrichment for Maldivians living in other countries. He emphasized the obligation of acquainting Maldivians living abroad, especially young students, with the culture and traditions of the Maldives and urged stakeholder agencies to work together towards achieving this goal.

Stakeholders shared their perspectives regarding the best methods of conducting such classes and expressed their eagerness to support activities intended to enrich Maldivians' linguistic and cultural knowledge.

The meeting was attended by Minister of Education, Dr Aishath Ali; Minister of Islamic Affairs, Dr Ahmed Zahir; President of Dhivehi Bahuge Academy, Ashraf Ali; Special Advisor on Social Policy at the President's Office, Musthafa Luthfee; senior officials from the National Institute for Education; and senior representatives from the National Centre for the Holy Quran.
