A new COVID-19 death has been recorded in the Maldives.
According to the Health Protection Agency (HPA), an 88-year old local male receiving treatment at the Hulhumale’ Medical Facility passed away at 03:50pm on Friday. This is the 39th COVID-19 death registered in the Maldives.
While 243 days have passed since the Maldives reocrded its first COVID-19 case, 11,893 cases have been identified to date. The country’s situation worsened significantly in August, but the numbers have been declining in recent days.
