Sri Lankan Airlines will be resuming Maldives - London flights from next month.
Sri Lankan Airlines restarted flights earlier last month after suspending flights due to COVID-19 pandemic. However, the route was suspended once again after the COVID-19 situation in the UK worsened. According to Sri Lankan Airlines, flights between the two destinations will once again be restarted on February 13.
Sri Lankan Airlines was the first airline to begin scheduled flights to the Maldives after the tourism dependent archipelago reopened its borders earlier in July. The airline also conducted charter flights during the border closure period to ferry cargo to the Maldives.
