The Tourism Ministry has stated that 28 airlines are currently operating to the Maldives.
Statistics published by the Tourism Ministry show that the most number of tourists traveled to the Maldives via Emirates airline out of the 28 airlines that operate to the Maldives. According to the numbers, Emirates recorded 300 flight movements by 10th February, and carried 24,974 tourists.
The second-most number of tourists arrived via Qatar Airways. The airline carried 17,013 over 266 flight movements. India’s Indigo followed behind, carrying 15,542 tourists over 228 flights.
While the most number of tourist arrivals were recorded from Russia with 27,041 tourists arriving from the country, this accounts for 22.2 percent of tourist arrivals. The second-most number of tourists arrived from India, with 26,292 tourists. This accounts for 21.6 percent of arrivals.
