Restrictive measures have been imposed on Hulhumeedhoo island of Addu City.
The measures were taken under a directive signed by the Director General of Public Health, Maimoona Aboobakur. According to the directive, the measures will be in place from March 4th for a period of seven days.
The measures include:
- A curfew and vehicle ban from 2000hrs to 0400hrs
- Ban on parties, events and other public gatherings
- Ban on visiting households
- Ban on travel between islands
- Limiting the number of people who can meet together to three
- Closure of salons, gyms and hair dressers
- Ceasing sports and exercise activities
- No physical classes for colleges and universities
- Prohibiting dine-in services at hotels and, cafes and restaurants
Two COVID-19 clusters have been identified in Addu City thus far.
